For a professional look!
Oh, how much a single woman can learn to do in home improvements if only she has a tube or two of DAP Kwik-Seal White All-Purpose Caulk! I do and I did! Here is how:

When I had my bathroom rebuilt--a necessity after discovering major water damage--I had to figure out how to hide/cover/disguise the fact that the sheet-rock guy didn't know what he was doing.

Backstory: The previous owner and her real estate agent perpetrated a fraud when they sold this house with undisclosed thousands in hidden damages. Example: When I started peeling off the wallpaper in the major bathroom--to my utter horror--I discovered disgusting mildew and rotted sheet-rock that went up a good four inches. You see, there is, was a party-size whirlpool tub in that bathroom. Apparently, it had flooded over, not once, but many times, causing this major water damage to the two walls down-flow from the tub. In fact, the sheet-rock was so rotted, that I hit it with my open hand, and parts crumbled off.

When the sheet-rock guy replaced the sheet-rock, he cut it off at that line left after I smashed the rotted part off. That line was at least four inches from the floor. So there was his big gap left between floor and sheet-rock. Meaning: the carpenter who added baseboard had to get tall baseboard, then glue the sheet-rock to the baseboard at the top because there was nothing for a nail to catch on as in usual sheet-rock that goes to the floor.

Because of other factors this bathroom was left unfinished until recently when I decided to do it myself. That's where the DAP Kwik-Seal comes in. Oh, thanks to those who created this fine product! I stuffed caulk and stuffed caulk and stuffed caulk into the big gap between sheet-rock and baseboard (OK, the gap after gluing had let go was maybe a quarter-inch or more).

Words cannot express how professionally the DAP covered that error in the sheetrockery. Either I am a home-improvement genius or DAP made me one! I was worried that the excess would ruin my paint job on sheet-rock and baseboard, but no, the excess wiped right off! No problem-o!

Well, DAP sealed that gap so beautifully--wish I could add photos here to show you--that I decided to do more with this product. I started sealing those ugly gaps, small though they were, around my windows. Wow, more professional looks. Additionally, I know that a sealed windows helps reduce heating and cooling costs.

Finally, I used the DAP on the tile in the guest bathroom where old caulk was looking tired and chipped. Cleaned it out, scrubbed it down, and caulked it all, including that window. Another wow!!

Instead of an application tool, I use my finger to smush in and smooth out the caulk, leaving white, gooey stuff all over my fingers. No problem. Wipe off the excess, run some warm water, and wash as usual with soap and water.

DAP Kwik-Seal Caulk is a product I will keep on hand to use again and again. It is excellent in all ways!
