Kwick Tek Kayak Paddle 3 Section Aluminum
The plastic pieces that connect the three aluminum shaft pieces are very easily broken. My first outing at the beach I broke one of them. I replaced it with some PVC piping and duct tape but I could no longer take it apart. During my second outing to the beach nothing broke but there was noticeable deformation to the paddle. On my third outing the other connector piece broke and the paddle ended up in my trash can. It is easy to use and handy in an emergency but I would not recommend it for any other use since it is so likely to break or deform.
great for an emergency paddle
I bought this to carry as an emergency paddle in conditions where my expensive carbon paddle might be damaged or lost.
It assembled easily and it can be broken down into a few small pieces which are easily stored in the 15"x12" hatch of my kayak leaving room for other gear.
Fantastic price
I got 2 because of the price and I am not disappointed. These are ideal for very light use on calm water. They are easy to assemble. They are very long and they will work with my inflatable 2 person kayak but if you are a reasonably handy cheapskate you could shorten them to use with a smaller craft. Do not subject them to heavy use or they will fail. These are for light recreation only and well worth the piece.
