Product Description

How does mankind deal with miracles? This question has assumed a more-than-theoretical importance in the life of Michael Glickman, who has been witnessing the miraculous on a regular basis since he investigated his first crop circle in 1990. In the years since then, an intensive study of the crop-circle phenomenon in the region of its most important appearances—the English countryside—has given Glickman extraordinary personal insight into a subject usually known only through secondhand reports and speculation.

More than eight years in the writing, Crop Circles: The Bones of God is unique among books on this modern enigma in that it combines the author’s firsthand field encounters with some of the most famous crop-circle formations (such as Alton Barnes 1990 and Silbury Hill 1997, as well as more recent circles) with intricate and dazzling analyses of the structure and content of those formations. This beautifully illustrated mix of personal narrative with detailed study informs a larger discussion of the role of crop circles in the modern world and their unprecedented promise of new chapters in the history of consciousness.

Customer Reviews

My only complaint is that the book wasn't at least four times longer5
I was looking for a book that presented logically the author's thoughts and findings on the crop circle phenomenon. Michael Glickman does just that. The book is well organized, reads well and has good photographs and illustrations. I especially liked the way in which the overlays were placed on top of the photos to explain the geometrical relationships. My only complaint is that the book wasn't at least four times longer with more crop circles being explained in this same manner. He said in the Introduction: "As I revised this manuscript, I cut it mercilessly, knowing that it had to be leaner and less of a year-by-year catalogue than my original draft." All I can say is bring on the original draft. I read it too quickly and now I am ready to reread it. I would highly recommend this book as a "feet on the ground" way of making some sense of these miraculous events.

Glickman has delivered a most wonderful book!5
I have studied and researched crop circles for years and I have yet to come across a book as beautifully written and illustrated as this. Michael Glickman goes beyond the usual "ideas" behind the crop circle phenomenon and ventures into breaking down, in laymans terms, the geometry and meaning (by his personal experience) of the designs. Being trained as an architect, he is able to relate the difficulty we would have, in creating these most extraordinary pieces of art.

His command of the English language and his reverence for the designs, the skills behind them, leads us to believe he was chosen to assist us in our understanding. I too wish the book had been longer; you can read it in one setting but the beauty remains in referring to it's contents over and over again. I would only hope, everyone pick this book up, read it, cherish it and know it is only the beginning.
Thank you Michael.....

Very interesting book5
It is an interesting book, about 160 pages, with many beautiful pictures. It will be difficult to believe that all these crop circles were created by people or some known natural phenomenon. The author with an architect background tells about, what he has learnt about crop circles and about his own and others reaction on them since the year 1990. This book is equally good as the other books I have read about the mystery. There is no summer without the crop circles in England. I would highly recommend this book for those who wants get an insight into the mystery of crop circles in southern England.
