Fly Away
I first heard this CD in a funky space bar in Fussa, Japan. Since then it has taken me away to many wierd places. Mostly mellow, yet mysterious "traveling" music... Foreign languages, outstanding vocals - little or no synth. Worth your money.
Trance Planet Creates A Love For World Music!
My roommate actually bought one of these CD's (Vol 1) by mistake and gave it to me. I was hooked and have bought the entire Trance Planet and Planet Chant Series! Of all of them, Volume 4 is my favorite simply because of the mainly ocus on Middle Eastern sound. I particularly enjoyed Track 6, Steve Shehan and Baly Othmani's "Tare (Awalin Almad Saras)" Which features traditional songs of the Kel Ewy Tuareg peoples. Simply haunting and a fantastic all around sampler- series for anyone who appreciates world music.
world trance, yes...
This is not trance in the 'club sense', but a world trance album comprised of near/middle eastern musicians that has delighted my massage clients many times. A fave in the 'chill-time' section of the collection.
