And the Stars Go with YouAnd the Stars Go with You by Jonn Serrie
Buy new: $16.98 / Used from: $8.88
One of the best Planetarium albums ever. Another album of his, "FLIGHTPATH" is on par to "Stars". Love the album cover too. "Century Seasons" is a collection of his space music so that may also be a good place to start. Also cannot go wrong with his "Planetary Chronicles".
The Stargazer's JourneyThe Stargazer's Journey by Jonn Serrie

A little trivia. I remember music from another album of his, TINGRI, being used as background music on the weather channel many years ago. :-) Check out "The Stellar Sea" by Telomere as well

One of my early finds in this genre. Fantastic! Another favorite of mine, if you can find it, is "Sky Archeology" by Nemesis. The album cover on that CD is great too! In addition, a recent find that I have been enjoying is "The Constellations" by Michael Neil He does have a home page (www.michaelneil.eu) http://www.musiczeit.com/directory.php?artist=42&title=Michael+Neil
Western SpacesWestern Spaces by Steve Roach

His soundtrack album CHRONOS was very powerful. This collection is the next best Stearns to add. Chronos, though, is hard to find. His album "Sacred Site" does contain some cuts from the Chronos soundtrack. Check out "Desert Solitaire" as well
EmpetusEmpetus by Steve Roach
Buy new: $15.45 / Used from: $2.10
My second favorite of Roach after his Structures from Silence, but it is hard to pick out which one is better. Try out Javi Canovas' "Nights of Brightness". Great recording. http://www.musiczeit.com/album.php?album=556&Javi+Canovas+Nights+of+Brightness If you are looking for some more upbeat space music, try "Ectoplasm" by Cerulean.

Symphony 11: The Year 1905Symphony 11: The Year 1905 by Shostakovich

I remember hearing this played in a planetarium when I was young. It still moves me to this day. Highly recommended!! Note: I am recommending the Symphony, not just this particular recording. It is the only one I have so that is why it is here. So for the negative voter I will clarify this.
Deep BreakfastDeep Breakfast by Ray Lynch

Some of his earlier work - good! Some may prefer his Daydreams CD better. Daydreams is more EM while this is more "environmental" Also "New Agey", but very nice is TRANZEN. Might be worth a look and is priced right. http://www.amazon.com/Atlantis-Tranzen/dp/B001MYIU5K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1256047210&sr=1-2
Sea of GlassSea of Glass by Giles Reaves
Buy used from: $3.75
If this isn't used in Planetariums, it should be! A must buy!! If you like Reaves style, you may enjoy "Kubusschnitt". It reminds me of a soundtrack for yet to made space epic. Comparable to late 70's Tangerine Dream. "The Singularity", "Cube" and "Phoenix" are all solid. Cube can be sampled here: (http://groove.nl/cd/1/11677.html)

A great moody and atmospheric album is called "Star Compass". Shipway has a great solo album called "Spirit of Adventure" sample here http://www.groove.nl/cd/3/38640.html and ..cd/g/gr-108.html

From the Editorial Review: "Emerald Web was a band that recorded, performed in Planetariums, composed soundtracks for Carl Sagan, and concert toured around the US, from 1978-1990" When will they make a CD out of their "Dragon Wings and Wizard's tales" LP? :-)

Relaxing. Another female EM artist who has many albums on Amazon is Bekki Williams. Maybe her album "Shadows Of The Wind" may be the place to start. Some of her music reminds me a little of the great EM artist Andy Pickford (See also Binar& National Space Centre Concerts. Update: Andy Pickford samples can be found here: http://www.musiczeit.com/directory.php?artist=316&title=Andy+Pickford

VERY ambient. This CD would fill a room with sound! His album Starfield is also very good.
Glide/Star GazerGlide/Star Gazer by Peter Davison

MajestyMajesty by Aeoliah

Traditional Psychedelic Electronic MusicTraditional Psychedelic Electronic Music by Planetarium Music
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $0.79

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly (Expanded)The Good, The Bad & The Ugly (Expanded)
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $5.48
This may seem like an odd choice, but if you listen to the whole album and not just the famous theme, you will see what great Planeterium music this makes. I forgot about this one. I used to enjoy it while reading astronomy books. I still like Ancient Isles by Richard Searles, but am limited to 40 selections so I chose to remove that one.
Twilight: Atmospheric Works, Vol. 2Twilight: Atmospheric Works, Vol. 2 by Rudy Adrian
These albums: "CREATE: Space time continuum or From Earth to Mars" would make an excellent planetarium albums.
