Everyman's Rolex Submariner
I bought this Invicta to replace a Seiko Kinetic that had been stolen, attracted by the vivid blue face, much like the watch I lost. For $90, I expected no more than a passable substitute. When the giant yellow box arrived, lined with genuine suede, I was surprised at how massive and well-made the watch was. The dial is an electric blue, the bezel clicks round in one direction with a satisfying Swiss mechanical precision, and the clasp mechanism is a unique design that snaps closed with a heavy, secure feel. It is enough to make the "you save $305" hype believable, although I've not had it long enough to judge the reliability or accuracy of the movement. My lone complaint is the instruction manual. The one-document-suits-all approach, printed in a small booklet that won't stay open, is irritating. I was able to figure out enough by fiddling to set the day and date, no help from the instructions. All in all, an excellent value. A home run for me.
Looks terrific, Feels solid - well worth the money!
I got this Invitica watch primarily because it was on sale and the cobalt blue face looked appealing on Amazon. That said, it looks even better in person. On top of this, the box its packaged in is large and leather bound, and looks wonderful enough to keep for special things in (I'm using it for cuff links). The watch is solid and heavy, and definitely looks the part of a watch well into the hundreds. Bottom line, this watch is a steal for $69.
Invicta Men's Pro Diver Chronograph Watch #5364
I couldn't pass up trying one of these at the price of $69.99. I know it is a cheap watch, but it looks so impressive, few people will know the difference. My only complaints are;
1) Squeaky band, even with a few drops of oil. Maybe it will break in after awhile.... The band WILL need adjusted for the normal wearer, I am a big guy and I took out TWO links, my guess is most will need 3-4 links removed. It was simple enough to do with just a thumbtack and a small mallet... don't pay anyone to do it unless you have money to burn (but if that was the case you wouldn't be buying a cheap watch, would you?)
2) I didn't realize that the large "second hand" only functions while in timer mode. I suppose most chrono's are like that? My old Seiko was the same, and it really bugged me.
This is not a daily worn watch for me, I will stick with my Seiko for the everyday stuff so I won't break this one (I have heard of too many horror stories about Invita's customer service, but at $70, I will just throw it away if it breaks).
