Product Description

This wireless sensor works with your iPod nano or iPod touch (2nd generation) to track your workouts. Insert it into the built-in pocket beneath the insole of your Nike+ shoe and pair it with your existing Nike + iPod receiver attached to your iPod nano. This sensor is perfect as a replacement for a sensor that has been lost or has exhausted its battery. Or it's great if you want to have a sensor for a second pair of Nike+ shoes. If you have an iPod touch (2nd generation), all you need to track your workouts is this wireless sensor. With its built-in support for Nike + iPod, your iPod touch (2nd generation) can deliver all the benefits of the Nike + iPod Sport Kit without the extra receiver. Please note: This package includes only the Nike + iPod wireless sensor. If you also need the wireless receiver for iPod nano, purchase the complete Nike + iPod Sport Kit.

Customer Reviews

Great item - Don't leave in shoe though4
Item work just as promised, only problem is that you can't leave it in the shoe and wear the shoe or you will eventually run down the battery which can't be replaced. Once the battery is dead the item becomes useless. Manufacturer didn't provide a way for the customer to change the battery, thus the customer must purchase a full replacement to continue to utilize the product/software.

Awesome but not very eco-friendly3
Although I love running with the Nike+ system, I have to agree with some of the people here that this system isn't the most environmentally friendly. It feels like a waste to replace the complete sensor just to be able to use your Nike+ again. Although there are ways to replace the battery in the sensor manually (just Google it and you'll find it) I wasn't sure if I would be able to do this without injuries. This could definitely be made easier. Not sure if this was a design decision by Nike or by Apple, but the motivation here is obviously to keep milking this so that instead of selling a product once they can continue to have you spend money every year when the battery dies.

Renewing your Nike+ experience now is cheaper5
This product includes just the shoe's sensor to get training information for Nike+.
I believe that's very useful, because before this you had to buy the sensor plus the iPod receiver, which is a waste of money if you just wanted to replace a worn out or lost sensor.
One thing that many people forgets, is that every sensor has a sleep button, you can set it to sleep when you know you're not going to use the sensor, so you can save battery life and making its life last longer, so in the long term you save money.
