He has over 30 years experience in individual, premarital, and family counseling. About the Author
Gary Oliver is a seminary professor, psychologist, professor of psychology and practical theology, and executive director of The Center for Marriage and Family Studies at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Formerly the clinical director of Southwest Counseling Associates in Littleton, CO, he is the author of numerous books, including When Anger Hits Home and Real Men Have Feelings Too. Carrie Oliver is a clinical therapist at The Center for Marriage and Family Studies at John Brown University, where she specializes in marriage and family counseling, anxiety disorders, and women's issues. She and her husband, Gary, are the parents of three sons.

If you have boys, You have got to get this book. This is a must read. Great Great Great buy.

Insightful and helpful
Raising Sons and Loving It has become a helpful tool both in raising two sons and being a child and adolescent therapist. The information found in this book is so helpful when trying to understand the dynamics of my sons. The parents of my clients who have read this book have also come to a new understanding of how to understand and enjoy their sons. This book stresses both the father's and the mother's role in the development of a boy. It was very insightul into male development in the areas of sexualtiy, spirituality and the role of testosterone in aggression. It is a very insightful and helpful book in understanding a son.
