Product Description

Fruit is the evidence that a plant has been firmly rooted and nurtured, and spiritual fruit is produced when we're rooted in God. But, as Elisa Morgan emphatically states, the fruit of the Spirit is not just about "being nice." It's about God's fruit being expressed in your own unique personality, a concept that frees women to reject superficial standards and embrace a life of producing the kind of fruit God likes. So, the author tells readers, "strip off the nice and get naked."

With a fun, fresh style of writing, Morgan thoroughly explores all the fruits of the Spirit and offers new twists on these sometimes over-worn and misinterpreted concepts. Thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter give readers ways to evaluate their spiritual growth and get down to the business of growing.

Women's ministry groups, fans of Elisa Morgan, and women everywhere will embrace this life-changing book.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly
Morgan, an author and speaker who is best known to evangelical Christian moms as the CEO and president of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) International, attempts a comparison between the Bible's definition of spiritual fruit as detailed in Galatians 5:22-23 and the edible kind. Morgan (Mom to Mom; Meditations for Mothers) tells readers "Fruit is the result of growth." Christians must invest their energies in rooting themselves in Bible reading and prayer by committing to daily appointments with God in order to bring forth spiritual fruit. Specifically, said fruit is made up of such qualities as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Morgan is quick to remind readers that it is Jesus who accomplishes the miraculous task of transforming ill-tempered, short-fused moms into women who embrace their parenting role through God's grace. Jesus' words and actions, writes Morgan, didn't always come across as "nice"; he peeled away the outer facades of those he encountered and directed them to stop sinning, repent and live courageously. Despite its endearing premise, Morgan's basic primer on developing a fruit-filled life will be helpful only to readers who are newer to the Christian faith. More ripened believers will not find much to savor in this lightweight resource.

Inspiring and Helpful for Making the World a Better place!5
As a busy wife responsible for the care and nurturing of so many lives outside my own, it's nice to be reminded that it's "God's job" to hand the "fruit production" in my life - to bestow upon me the fruit of the Spirit. Most days I'm just busy ensuring that four sets of teeth get brushed after every meal - the thought of being loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and exercising self control can be daunting. Thank goodness for encouraging authors like Elisa Morgan, who not only inspire the heart, but also offer the tools to keep me aiming at and running towards my spiritual goals.

NAKED FRUIT gives moms the tools they need to open their hearts and souls to accepting the Spirit's gift, and equips them to grow in their relationship with God and with those whose lives they touch. Author and MOPS International President Elisa Morgan's concept that the "Naked Fruit" of a relationship with God is simply becoming (as best we can) like Jesus is as refreshingly satisfying as the first bite into a luscious orange on a hot summer afternoon!

The book's brief, yet insightful chapters end in thought provoking (but manageable) "Fruit for Thought" exercised designed to help busy mothers see a clear path to growing more fruitful in their own circles of relation. Although the book is aimed at mothers, any Christian looking to honestly make the world a better place and wanting to grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control will doubtless benefit from the experience of reading, savoring and digesting NAKED FRUIT.
