Average customer review:Product Description
Describing himself as a "little feller" with a close resemblance to "Dennis the Menace all grown up," a crippled, arthritic hand he occasionally refers to as Slackjaw, a balding pattern attributed to his father's penchant for grabbing him by the hair to deck him in the face as a kid, and a coke habit that would make Keith Richards a little (more) twitchy, Sean Rouse of the Unbookables clearly has what the kids call a face for radio or at least recorded comedy. It's a good thing, then, that he's taken the plunge with his new CD "Spilled Milk"... and that he's got the shock and awe to back it up. Filthy, depraved, and always clever, the verbal assault on "Spilled Milk," in fact, is so immediately arresting that it makes every future listening more rewarding. Once the utter surprise at the horrific things spewing forth from Rouse's drug-addled brain wears off, you get to the holy grail: the famed second and even third layers of funny wherein you find that often his asides to the audience are as witty and well-turned as the backbones of his routine. Seemingly gamboling about his set in a tangential manner as though the audience is being treated to the podcast of his inner monologue, Rouse's call-backs are masterful, building the crowd's familiarity with his stand-up language quickly, only to appall his listeners anew each and every time. Don't let the smooth twangy accent fool you, the title Spilled Milk is clearly a warning: listen up, and don't cry, sissy.

Why Don't You Listen
Otherworldly timing, multiple punchlines, and an act that swerves from topic to topic like a drunk school bus driver.
Give Rouse time; on this CD he'll hit something. Probably a nerve.
Rouse is more than a "l'il fellah", more than a human squidbilly, but you got to give his delivery a chance to sink in. For those who bad-mouthed him, too bad. Once you get used to him, no one will make you laugh harder.
A standup-punch comic who delivers like no one else.
not so good
so the product is good but the cd was broken when it got to me, TWICE
Quick - see him before he dies!
What's the difference between a good comedian and a great one?
I really didn't know what to expect as I waited to see Sean Rouse performing live in Glasgow last year. Thankfully however, I was introduced to one of the funniest and thought provoking comedians alive today.
Like all great artists, Rouse draws on his own personal experiences, hilarious and tragic alike, to amuse and enlighten his audience, but what makes him SO good is the delivery of his material. His refreshing sincerity draws you deep into his world where he heightens your sense of anticipation before blasting away the awkwardness with his brilliant comedic timing.
On the surface level, some of his material could appear to be deliberately designed to enrage or offend, but is in fact cleverly constructed to point out the hypocrisy and absence of logic found in society and religion. This edge to his act can occasionally be missed by some listeners, but is usually picked up by the deeper thinkers in the audience.
While I'd recommend this CD as a great introduction to Sean Rouse, he simply MUST be seen live to fully appreciate his unquestionable talent.
