Review
"A thorough knowledge of ethics and the application of ethical behavior is a fundamental aspect of all social work practice, regardless of setting. This book is a valuable resource that covers this difficult and complex topic in a comprehensive and understandable manner. It tackles difficult practice issues in a realistic manner and forces the reader, through its abundant use of case examples and exercises at the end of each chapter, to examine his or her values and philosophical approach to practice."

"It informs the reader of the codes of ethics for social work practice and addresses in depth the application of social work values and ethics in practice dilemmas. The text includes guidelines prod the reader to become involved in thinking about practice issues and actions. It is thorough, has numerous excellent examples with guides to what to consider with each."

"I would describe this manuscript as provocative, thoughtful, filled with many wonderful exemplars. The primary strength is that it addresses many of the situations, which students and colleagues have, and will, find. It is a terrific stepping stone to start a dialogue with colleagues and students."

Practical and Enjoyable5
This book was required reading for my Ethics class for my master's degree in social work. Of all the books, I enjoyed this one the best. It offers concise, easy-to-read chapters on a myriad of issues facing social workers in the field. These issues not only include ethical dilemmas in treating clients, but also issues involving personal ethics, agency bureaucracy, private practice, etc. Much of the information is thought-provoking and the excellent references provide further reading on those topics you are most interested in. This is one of those books you want to save after you graduate and include in your professional library.
