This would be a reference for those who have questions beyond the scope of the other two recording studio books reviewed in this article, particularly where professional-style (non-PC) recording studios are concerned. Tom McCartney, owner of T.M. Electronics in Toronto, Canada, provides information on basic electronics, tools, and equipment, with the latter portion of the book covering cleaning and repair of equipment, soldering, and speakers. -- Review

Customer Reviews
If you know which end of a soldering iron won't burn you, buy this book!
Practical! No theory, just facts! This book is awesome! I am a semi-professional recording engineer and I was thinking about building my own studio when I discovered this book. My degree is in electrical engineering but all of my "school house" knowledge was theory and is useless in the real world of stray electromagnetic fields, studio grounding techniques and tape machine repair. Therefore this book is worth its weight in gold! The chapter on patchbays alone is worth the price. I can already tell that just like a motorcycle repair manual, I need two of these. Once clean reference for the bookshelf and one for the shop. I am VERY grateful that Mr. McCartney decided to write this book.
