Audio CD essential for textbook
The audio CD is essential for the textbook - depending on your piano skills you could get by playing most of the examples, but the CD is a great help. Because some tracks have more than one example on them, using it in the classroom can mean you have to skip through some examples. If you don't mind doing this occasionally, there's nothing else wrong with this CD. Overall, an excellent publication.

Great Supplement for Theory Class
I teach undergraduate music theory. This CD set allows me to play examples from the textbook, so that my students can hear course topics in context. I like using the CD because some of the textbook examples are orchestral, or string quartets, or songs, etc., which I can't demonstrate very well on the piano. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because some tracks contain multiple examples. Sometimes I have to scan through a track to find the correct example, and that can waste class time.
