Mythology staple4
A wonderful, summarized account of Greek and Roman mythology. Hamilton takes a more serious note than others just out to tell the stories, but fortunately never goes out on an intellectual limb to disect all meanings. Rather she handles the mythology professionally while still obviously revelling in the sheer awesomeness of these stories. She hits on as many myths as possible, including the works of Homer. The main focus is Greek, but she even manages to put in a summary of the Norse way of things (though I wouldn't recommend this book for studying that). One of my favorite aspects of this book is the "Family Trees" in the back. Excellent resource for studying as well as just a great read

I enjoyed it...3
I over all liked this book. I would get a little bored sometimes with some of the stories because the writing didn't capture my attention.

This a good book for it you want a lot of different greek and roman myths.

Not quite as expected...but decent3
Very good book on a basic guide to ancient mythology, but I was disappointed to find out how basic it was. I like how it seemed the author was mixing Greek, Roman, Nordic, and other ancient mythologies together... However, this book seems to stick to Greek and Roman and barely touch on Nordic, and the other mythologies might as well have been deleted they tell so little. Certainly not a bible for mythology at all!

Overall I learned a little, and it was interesting, none-the-less. I don't feel cheated, but I wouldn't buy it again.
