Easy Learning!!
I just received this book w/CD, tried it out and found it to be extremely informative in learning trumpet. The CD that comes with it makes it even more rewarding in that it gives you step by step instructions (as the book) including the sound of each note for comparison. I recommend this to anyone wanting to learn trumpet by self-teaching.

You CAN!
This book is pretty comprehensive. It takes you from holding the trumpet/cornet all the way to playing, in time, to music on the CD. I would have liked more info on how to get different octaves on the instrument. They tried, but maybe a book just can't provide everything. I would seriously consider this book if you are just beginning and want to learn the instrument on your own.

Playing Trumpet again after 20 years
An outstanding book which starts with the basics and works with you through some easy level popular songs -- all lessons are on CD and allow you to shift the balance feature of your player to play background music or with instructional trumpet. A smaller book, so recommend also purchasing a fold out fingering chart (one is included in the book, but its much smaller).
