Don't bother.
This book does contain only 3 chords as promised, but does not have any strum patterns for any of the songs. What this means is that all the songs sound the same. I talked with the publisher but they were no help. Now, I'm far enough along that I can figure out some of the strum patterns, but I can play more than 3 chords, so the book doesn't help.

Fun, quick fake book
Maybe this book isn't for absolute beginners. If you've got a couple of chords--three to be exact--under your belt and can do a bit of strumming, these songs will be a blast. This is not a tab or a note-for-note transcription of these songs, so don't expect it to sound exactly like the recording. This is a beach or a picnic or party book!

Disappointed
I am a new guitar player and was very disappointed with this book. Most of the songs sound nothing like the originals.
