Average customer review:Product Description
The Guitar Grimoire by Adam Kadmon is the most complete and thorough book on guitar fingerpicking that has ever been published. The book introduces basic elements of musical notation and chord-fingerpicking patterns, and expands to more complex topics, such as scale fingerpicking (major and minor) and ostinato bass variations. All topics are accompanied by thousands of charts, diagrams and musical examples to guide and instruct the player on how to master the fingerpicking technique. The examples are working and functional, and will lead to an immediate application and creation of progressions, songs and compositions.

This Book Is USELESS
The book lists only 8 TOO COMMON fingerpicking patterns. That's it. You can get these online in the most ridiculous basic guitar websites.
Then it goes on to show scales and more scales, and the only suggestion on them is to use Thumb Index Middle fingers to pluck the same string 3 times... no actual suggestions on how to go about doing so physically (thumb goes down, right? the others go up?)... no tips on how to position the hands for relaxed picking or anything else. There are no "scales fingerpicking" patterns beyond T-I-M for the same old scales diagrams.
I got the book today and I'm extremely disappointed. I only bought it because of the reviews above, and I regret it. It is too expansive to ship it back to amazon from another country, so I'm stuck with it... but I am not going to touch it anymore.
I think this book is not worth the money, and since this is the first I bought in this series, I'm also not going to ever consider this author again.
"The Exercise Book" for Fingerstyle!
I found this book to be small, yet powerful. He starts off by giving a bunch of different patterns commonly used in music and also that will help build finger strength and coordination. I then goes into exercises much like those from "The Exercise Book" but written specifically for fingerstyle guitar playing. All of the fingerings are marked and very clearly explained. As many of Kadmon's books, you need to have some knowledge of fingerpicking before grabbing this one, but if you're in that position where you already know how to fingerpick to some extent and you want to dig deeper...get this book!
