Customer Reviews
Staff Lines Too Heavy
The staff lines seem a bit too thick. Thick staff lines serve no purpose. They "compete" with the notes. Razor-thin lines, on the other hand, allow the notes to stand out more clearly.
The quality of the paper and binding are very satisfactory. Too bad about those heavy staff lines.
Green Cover Wirebound Manuscript Paper
I purchased this notebook not for music composition, but for use as an assignment/note book for my piano lessons.
The binding and paper are good quality and the paper stands up to erasures pretty well, but I agree with a previous reviewer that the staff lines are way too thick. They're as thick as thickly-ruled normal notebook/looseleaf paper, but they're in black ink rather than a light blue, which gets in the way of reading my notes (especially since I use pencil.) If you look at the staff lines that are on the cover of the book itself, that's pretty much what you're dealing with.
I bought four of these as part of the 4-for-3 deal and I got free shipping, but even with the convenience of not having to go to the store and a sale price of $3.38 per notebook, I wouldn't purchase again. Those dark staff lines really get in the way.
