Average customer review:Product Description
"Inspiration for Songwriters: Tips and Tricks to Unlocking the Muse" is not your typical book about songwriting. It does not explain how to write, publish, pitch, promote or record your next song. There are already dozens of songwriting books covering those subjects. What "Inspiration for Songwriters" provides is something few other songwriting books offer, and in our humble opinion, does it much better than the few similar titles on the market. It provides thousands of inspirational ideas that could very well be the seeds to your next song! All in all, "Inspiration for Songwriters: Tips and Tricks to Unlocking the Muse" includes over 2000 titles, tips, tricks and other ideas that will inspire you to create song after song.

Editorial Reviews
Review
I hadn't flipped through more than a few pages, just reading random bits and pieces, before I had more ideas for new songs than I could shake a stick at. In the hierarchy of books, this one clearly falls into the category of those that accomplish what they set out to do. And that is a substantial achievement. -- The Muse's Muse, January 2007
Customer Reviews
I respectfully disagree with the above reviewers!
I bought this book based upon the 5 star reviews seen above. (I wasn't looking for it, but it popped in a combined book referral offer when I was ordereing another book.) Well, I feel really ripped off! For the price, it is not NEARLY the quality of material or writing that the prior reviewers have represented or the price demands (Come on guys! Are you related to or friends of the author?). The rambling, unorganized writing style of the author drove me nuts! The headings often don't resemble the content below them, and the thesis statements, if present at all, are often buried within the paragraphs. The concepts are presented such a random fashion that I had great difficulty getting past my annoyance to get the guts of the book. It's as if it's just directly transcribed from the author's tape recorder and then published. Maybe I'm just spoiled with how well and clearly the material is presented in Jason Blume's, John Braheny's or Pete and Pat Lubboff's books. Now, the author says that there's no right or wrong way to use the book. So if you buy it, just open it up anywhere for a few minutes, read one suggestion, and see where applying it will get you. The spririt of this book is appreciated. But if you're looking for a clear, method to connect with your muse, wait until the author hires an editor and releases the second edition.
Built for repeated inspiration
Wow, what a great idea for a book. You don't just read it once and put it away, you go back to it again and again whenever you need some new ideas or a 'jump-start'. Way to go Stan. This is right there in my music library next to 'Mel Bay's Deluxe Encyclopedia of Guitar Chords'
Quote from Bob Lind ("Elusive Butterfly")
This book is packed with innovative jet fuel that will set your mind soaring into the creative stratosphere. There are hundreds of imaginative ideas here to unlock the imagination. If you've always wanted to write songs and can't find at least one tip worth the price of the book, perhaps you should consider another pursuit -- like collecting Popsicle sticks or licking envelopes. --Bob Lind, songwriter ("Elusive Butterfly", "Cheryl's Going Home" and "Mister Zero".) and author.
