Customer Reviews
there's something wrong here....
look carefully at these reviews...how over the top positive they are.. I've seen it so many times from Ty Cohen, he pretends he's a reviewer or has someone start reviewing other books only to end the review by suggesting people check out books by Ty Cohen( if you have the time, click on the "see my reviews" for some of these reviewers and you will find that they name dropped Ty Cohen)... something is wrong here...I don't trust an author who tries so hard to pump his product...if the book is great and it is available, the positive reviews will come... look at the reviews and maybe you will notice like I did, how many times Ty Cohen books were name dropped while a reviewer was reviewing another book on the music industry. If this is his strategy, it obviously works, but does the practice of fraudulent praise help the reader simply looking for the right book for his needs? This guy isn't the only one doing it, padding his reviews with glowing praise, or going to similiar books on amazon and steering people toward his books. I believe it does undermine the customer review process because reviews by genuine objective customers are a real help. I found this book at my friend's place and there's nothing here... his whole philosophy is simple...spread your name into every corner of the market, find a way to place your name everywhere(he does this by giving bogus amazon reviews on music business books and always telling the reader that a Ty Cohen book is better or the best reference book the reader will find)...make believe you are multiple people, the rest is cobbled together strategies that any basic book on internet promo will give, and of course, more than anything, self praise, praise, praise.....
These reviews are BOGUS
Hi, My name is Jonathan O'Donovan and I've been checking out books on how to market yourself on the internet. I have checked out several of Ty's books on Amazon and read the reviews. I've noticed that MOST IF NOT ALL OF THE REVIEWS FOR THIS BOOK READ ALIKE!
For example, the review by Stephen P for this book reads:
This title is the ultimate internet mastering tool
The very next reviewer 'Jefferson K' writes:
This title is the ultimate tool in harnessing the power of the internet.
Check it out for yourselves guys - study the reviews carefully.
Jonathan
Title sounds interesting... I wish someone who read it would review it... 99% of the reviews on this are most-likely Planted.
Others have mentioned this same thing and the reasons why. All I'll say is that unless this book puts a "Search Inside" feature on it so i can see what the content and writing is like I'm not considering it. Absolutely NONE of the reviews or the Paragraph descriptive up top really say enough about WHAT the book is about and HOW it helps you Apply it. All the reviews are written the same way, all fawning over the "great book" but not saying what really makes it good. Expecting the buyer to just trust the reviewers opinion. I also clicked on the link below each reviewers previous history of reviews & almost ALL of them either ONLY reviewed THIS ONE BOOK and nothing else in their entire Amazon History OR they reviewed only another Music Business book OR whats worse-! they Reviewed another Book by the Author of THIS book!!!!!! I smell something fishy. Just goes to show you can't trust he 5-star system; you have to have the "See Inside" the book feature for books or be able to listen to the CD for CD's before you buy it. et cetera... Amazon should look into this.
