Cumbersome & Not practical
I was led to believe by prior reviews that this title would be useful for a hobbyidt. Not so. The format and paper stock made it very cumbersome to use. There was often either too much or far to little practical detail on mixing to be useful for a hobbyist. I'm sure the author is knowledgeable, and that a budding professional recording engineer could benefit from the book, but I was very glad that Amazon has a generous returns policy!

Good Information
I just received this book and haven't completed reading it, but at a glance & after checking the table of contents, it seems to have a lot of very valuable & detailed infomation on the subject of mixing & mastering music. It is very easy to read & understand, "not just a lot of technical jargan" that if you don't already know, you will never be able to understand. However before purchasing it, I wish I'd paid attention to the fact that this is book six in a series of lessons (not the sixth edition of the same book). If you're a new-comer as I am, you might want to start at book one -- or at least consider where you are in the learn-how-to-record music process, instead of diving into the middle of the course.
