Great Book To Buy, Especially for the Begginer
This is a great one for the price. It has more than enough information and examples about scales to learn that will help you improve your playing considerably. If you need help on theory, it also has some of that too. It also has the chords to play for the major and minor keys. This is one of the must have if you are shopping for a guitar book. Your friends will want to borrow this one.
Not for Dumbies
This is a good book that covers everything you need to know about scales, but if you are a moron like me you might need a book that dumbs things down to your level more, you have to be fairly intelligent to learn with this book since it just presents all the facts and doesn't go out of the way to dumb things down so every simple minded Joe Blow can understand them.
Excellent Reference Book.
This book is an excellent reference book. It combines notation with scale templates and tab. It is a great balance. The text is not merely filler but highly descriptive. Although it is not as jam-packed with info as "The Guitar Grimiore," it is a great deal more accessable to the average reader.
