The Guitar Chord Book
I wrote this book for the same reason that I wrote The Guitar Note Book, so that I would be able to see at-a-glance, a variety of chords in all of their positions on the fretboard. It works by showing chord shapes or fingering overlaid on fretboard charts, from The Guitar Chord Book.
The book offers 4,769 chord voicings in fifteen different chord types, in all seventeen key signatures. It is a powerhouse of information about chord placement on the fretboard, and makes the learning time almost instant. Just look up the chord that you want to play, choose the position on the chart most suited to play the chord and form the chord with your fingers. You're playing it right now!
The charts cover all twenty-two frets of the guitar fretboard, and notes (displayed with names instead of dots) are placed on the charts, so dissecting a chord for creating an alternate fingering is fast and easy.
I use my copy of the book on a regular basis when I am working on songs or musical ideas. I hope you like and use your copy of The Guitar Chord Book as I do mine.
Thank you, John Holbrook
About the Author
One Christmas as a twelve year old boy my wish came true; I got a guitar. Guitar playing has been a lifelong passion and a major influence. Throughout the years my guitar playing ability was developed by several astute teachers and by the study of may reference books.
To facilitate more efficient guitar playing, I began to develop my own personal chord charts as I did the original scale charts to help me find my way around the many scales and key signatures. Soon I had a collection of several charts that became the foundation of The Guitar Chord Book and The Guitar Note Book.
