The Piano Bood Supplement 2008-095
Great book if you are shopping for a Piano. It gives you a wealth of information regarding pianos, piano manufacturers and the whole industry. This is the supplement to The Piano Book - so it has the updates on manufacturer reviews (lots of changes in the last 5 years due to Asian manufacturing, company mergers, and ones that are no longer in bus).

Informative!5
Larry Fine's Supplement to the Piano Book is a definite buy if you're in the market for a piano. Excellent general overview of piano companies and their products + list prices for new pianos. Very informative and helpful if you're in the market for a new piano or are thinking of entering the market.

It really is meant to supplement the Piano Book itself, unless you just want the current price lists and a short essay on the different piano companies. Most will probably find they really do need BOTH to make intelligent choices....especially if a used piano purchase is also a possibility.

great reading for the piano enthusiast5
Once I got my copy of the piano, I could hardly put it down. Being a piano enthusiast (and pianist) all my life, I was interested in the history of all the different piano manufacturers and how they rated one against the other. This book definitely does that and more.

Also, having played a lot of different pianos (love those large grands, ha) during my life, and now owning both Yamaha C5 and Kawai KG5 grands, this book not only confirms my prior purchases; but also opens up many possibilities for future ownership of pianos from different manufacturers.

As for the yearly supplements, these are a must, especialy in this climate of every changing situations with the different piano manufactureres, e.g. Baldwin, Chinese pianos, etc.

Way to go, Larry Fine. We piano players salute you.
