Customer Reviews

New at recording, learned a lot5
Ive been playing guitar for years, but a total newb at recording and never got into how things work. I mainly got this book for the EQ, but I learned a lot from the other topics as well. This is a small book, yes, but its also priced accordingly. Still I thought the amount of content in the book was sufficient. Its enough to get you with a solid basic understanding of everything and to get you started playing around with the EQ and effects. Thats all you should expect from it. There was even some information I found in this book that wasn't covered in larger books that Ive read, like the Mixing Engineers Handbook(although this is a good book too).

He describes well not just what to do but also how things work. I can much better grasp topics when I understand why, or how something works.

This book also comes with a CD which is a plus. Much bigger/costlier books don't even bother, so this one gets a bonus for that. Its easier to understand a sound by reading AND hearing it, instead of just reading it.

Overall, Im happy with buying it. Its not comprehensive, but its priced right for the amount of content so I give it a 5.

Good Job!!4
