Still Amazing!
I have to agree with the reviewer who said that something must have malfunctioned after the first cd. All these years later and this is STILL in my top 5 most played cds. I've actually bought it a couple times and now that I have a Zune 80GB don't have to worry about my disc when going out and about:)
The second cd was still quite good, better than the majority of trip-hop that has come out but on the third cd is really all went downhill and I've lost all faith in this band but at least we have this incredible cd. I love every song, no, every second of this cd. In fact it's so hard for me to talk about this cd without putting it on that I have it playing right now. Favorite track is "Plus Profond".
If you are like me then you have been waiting (in vein) for another stellar Hooverphonic album and dissapointed again and again. Whatever you do, DON'T spend the money to import their new cd "President of LSD Golf Club", it's nothing like the Hooverphonic of the first album and is really terrible all around.
This is an album I play regularly since I bought it
Orginally found some of the recording on this album on soundtracks, and grew attached to the sound of it. Did not realize it was a first album until bought it, and while the sound could be consided kind of dated (it is ten years old) it is still has strong imagedy and can be considered light and airy for techno beat. have followed up with other album by the group but still working on completing the collection. Later album show greater varity of style but this is a soild effort here.
Amazing!
Out of all of Hooverphonic's albums this is definitely my favorite! I would describe this album as ethereal. This album simply takes you away!
