Extraordinary Musicianship
Musicians, in general, and bass clarinetists in particular will be bowled over by Henri Bok's extraordinary musicianship, His sound throughout the range of the instrument, from his low C's to his extended altissimo is gorgeous. His technical skill is mind boggling. His interpretation of the music is exciting and gripping.

Piano players, especially accompanists, get a real bonus here because Rainer Klass's performance behind Henri is letter perfect. The interaction between these two artists should be examined by anyone who wants to hear a perfect duo. The "sympatico" between these two says "Wow!"

The music is complex, much of it is quite avant gaurde, and may not appeal to everyone. But if you want to hear the quintessential bass clarinetist, with a monstrously talented accompanist, listen to this disc.

Great music for the bass clarinet
I recieved music for bass clarinet several months ago, and I just love the CD. Henri Bok is a world renowned bass clarinetist, and his playing is incredible. There is always a good balance between the bass clarinet and piano. Herni Bok has a full and sweet tone. The music on this CD, unlike much modern bass clarinet music, is very easy on the ears. The music is not quite as atonal as a lot of modern music is. This CD is full of hard to find music that is quite lyrical and beautiful. Herni Bok gives very musical interpitations of the peices. For anyone interested in the bass clarinet this is a CD you must have. Where else do you get to here world class musicians playing major peices of the bass clarinet repitoire, and new and exciting music?
