Customer Reviews
A collection of non-beatmixed Tracy Young dance mixes with bland vocals...
This is not your usual Tracy Young circuit party continuous mix. These are all free-standing, full-length remixes by Tracy Young. And the results are mixed:
1. it's a lovely day...Erica Jennings (3:42) (very moody, melancholy house, female vocal)
2. solo port u amor...manuel franjo (7:20) (blech! Dreary male latin vocals and another moody mix)
3. New york city...fuman freak (7:38) (dark tribal, with male vocals reminiscent of Byron Stingly. But still subdued...no drama here)
4. wishing you were here...misarah (7:42) (ah...some drama! Still mostly a melancholy house track, with female vocals, but this progressive mix has some nice build ups)
5. bang bang...erica Jennings (6:32) (a cover of a Cher song-which she covered herself at one point-and in all honesty, I would have preferred a remix of her 1987 version. This song is really hokey-making a dance version just for the sake of making a dance version. You'll wanna shoot yourself down after hearing the repetitive "bang bang" line....)
6. Compassionate Buddha...asian heart (6:53) (good music, good build ups and peaks, but not a real vocal track, more like a dub)
7. miracle...charlene Holloway (7:50) (one of the best tribal diva anthems on the disc. Hard and dark.)
8. The world is a stage...terry barber (8:44) (another hard and dark mix, this one with an operatic female vocal. Nice mix)
9. My funny valentine...P. Melas (6:30) (interesting...and depressing, just like the song itself)
10. what is this...missarah (8:43) (this is a pretty good female vocal track-but, as with most of the tracks on here, I think the overall problem is that the melodies of the songs just aren't as strong as the instrumental mix would require them to be, so the music is forced to tone itself down.)
11. Sweet Johnny...kyoko (4:00) ( a chill out track, not a dance tune)
Slow, boring, like a sketcheless canvas
Though a good mixer, Tracy just doesn't know how to keep the energy up. Try someone else, or buy this in order to fall asleep.
Nothing but AWESOME
If you buy ONE Dance Disc this Year: THIS IS IT!!!
Great House/Deep House Traxx mixed by talented Tracy Young.
A great Journey into Soundz.
Is there coming something up from Celeda or Suzanne Palmer (69 records)?
But in between be sure to listen to this great Stuff.
Never Heard Bang Bang (Cher-Song) better.
