The Massachusetts Wind Orchestra was founded in 1991 by Music Director, Malcolm W. Rowell, Jr., and has captured the attention and participation of some 140 outstanding musicians from throughout the East. This ensemble is now recognized as one of the finest professional ensembles of its kind in the United States. The Massachusetts Wind Orchestra provides quality musical experiences to wind, brass and percussion musicians. Its personnel are professional musicians , educators and freelancers who have trained at many of America’s leading conservatories, colleges and universities. The ensemble offers a unique opportunity to experience and explore traditional and contemporary wind music while aspiring to the highest musical standards.
