Editorial Reviews
From the Manufacturer
CUDDLE CHIMP is the lovable, huggable baby chimpanzee that just adores being cuddled! He can reach out to give you a hug and loves to clap his hands when he's happy. Watch his facial expressions change and listen to him make realistic baby chimp sounds. Pet the soft fur on his back while you're cuddling him and be sure to feed him his banana bottle when he gets hungry!
Customer Reviews
I liked it more than my kids
So when my children saw that Ape head that gadget stores were selling they LOVED it, I thought this would be a less severe(no pun intended) option.
It scared them both and we gave it away.
I thought it was really cool, and would have liked it when I was a kid *shrug*
Grandpa and Granddaughter
I have just received a cuddle chimp through Amazon.com a week ago and fell in love with it. It is great toy for teaching responsibility, the care of animals, and is interactive. My granddaughter who is six years old and like myself has always wanted a baby chimpanzee, this animatronics toy has made that wish a reality.
I notice that most reviewers gave four stars for educational;I gave it a five. The reason for the five stars is because my granddaughter and I spends time discussing the care and life of apes and how people like Jane Gooddall care about the endangered being.
The reason for four stars in the durability of this loving toy is that the arms can break easily if mishandle and the "on/off" switch is placed in the behind of the chimp which could affect the placement of the arms when trying to interact with it.
Overall I highly recommend the special cuddling chimp and give it five stars.
Age recommendation too low, toy too fragile
I think this product is interesting and the realism is fascinating, especially for my two boys, ages 5 and 1. But the first time my oldest son picked it up by the arm, the elbow joint broke causing many tears. I just don't think this works for younger children. My son is very careful--I can only imagine what a rough houser would do. I urge you to reconsider if buying for a young child.
