	Steve Reich 1965-1995 Buy new: $87.99 / Used from: $64.95 The semi-complete Reich portfolio. The best introduction you can get to Reich, one of the foremost experimental composers and champion of the "process piece."
	The Computer Music Tutorial by Curtis Roads Buy new: $48.39 / Used from: $28.68 The encyclopedia of electronic sound. Anything and everything you could want to know about theory, composition and practice from 1/f noise to Linear interpolation to the zeta violin.
	I Am Sitting in a Room Buy new: $16.99 / Used from: $15.98 The complete desctruction [or beautification] of vocal snippits using only four walls, a ceiling and a floor.
	Computer Music: Synthesis, Composition, and Performance by Charles Dodge Buy new: $88.67 / Used from: $53.73 A more backpack friendly companion to the Computer Music Tutorial. Written by Dodge and Jerse, this covers many of the same techniques and theories, but not as in-depth.
	Electronic Music by Iannis Xenakis Buy new: $17.98 / Used from: $15.99 One of the earlier greats of electronic/acoustic music. Orient-Occient and Bohor are my favorites. Rerelease and unedited from tape by EMF.
	Experimental Music: Cage and Beyond (Music in the Twentieth Century) by Michael Nyman Buy new: $30.89 / Used from: $19.00 Nyman puts a name to everything that deserves one, and manages to spell out (quiet brilliantly) the entire Experimental Music movement as it existed at the time of this books publication (mid-70s).
	Cage: Sonatas and Interludes for Prepared Piano Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $5.00 The father of indeterminancy. This CD sports some of his more accesible and even more attractive works for his famous prepared piano.
	To Boulez and Beyond: Music in Europe Since the Rite of Spring by Joan Peyser Buy used from: $0.42 Early experimental composer/conductors, and those that started the modern music revolution. Great history lesson.
	Bright And Dusty Things [CD on Demand] by Stephen Vitiello Buy new: $12.00 / Used from: $9.06 Sound artist who worked in the World Trade Center in NYC. His seminal album, based on light readings made from a machine built for him by the reknown Mr. Bob Bilecki (sp?)
	Wireless Imagination: Sound, Radio, and the Avant-Garde by Histories of Sound Once Removed Buy new: $26.51 / Used from: $17.95 Connections between art movements in different mediums, and interesting essays on the moden condition. Compilation of the more interesting modern art movement personalities.
	Star Switch On by Various Artists Buy used from: $18.99 Various Artists on TOUCH records were commissioned to use the nature recordings of Chris Watson (formerly of Cabaret Voltaire) as source material for pieces. Staggering genius. A hunk of pure AWESOME.
	Genesis Of A Music: An Account Of A Creative Work, Its Roots, And Its Fulfillments, Second Edition (Da Capo Paperback) by Harry Partch Buy new: $18.81 / Used from: $13.98 Straight for the horse's mouth. Harry Partch, experimental musician/intrument maker/designer. Three words: forty-three tone scale.
	Zyklop by Thomas Köner Buy used from: $49.25 Koner is a master of the drone, and takes environmental sampling to the next level. Shut your eyes and fall right into the one.
	Music, Physics and Engineering by Harry F. Olson Buy new: $13.63 / Used from: $2.96 All the technical stuff, and none of the fluff. Chock full of vitamins, minerals and equations. More refernece that you could ever pack into a smaller package.
	Pulse Demon by Merzbow Buy used from: $39.94 One of my semi-favorite Merzbow albums (Amlux is my top pick) but regardless, a good introduction to the noise work of Mr. Masami Akita.
