Distinguished lines in premium grade steel are modern yet classic, innovative and sophisticated. Signature polished steel case, set inside a slightly larger carriage, rotates 180 degrees to reveal a polished and engraveable steel caseback. Case is presented on the handsome brown crocodile strap. Decorative fluted detail on the bezel adds distinction. Handsome silver colored dial with blue baton hands and black Arabic numeral hour markers. A window at the 6 o'clock hour reveals the small-seconds subdial. Manual mechanical movement requires winding every 24-hours.

When you have several grand to spare...5
This is the watch to get.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is a classic. Tasteful, sophisticated, and with a rich history. The Reverso was created for British officers that had broken watches playing polo. When the face is reversed, there is a steel rectangle instead of a watch face, somewhat more resistant to the hardships of an active life than your traditional watch crystal.

Yes, it is expensive, and much of this is for the name, and a fair bit is for tariffs and the various costs of living where it was made. Still, this is a charming and quixotic little bit of hardware. Manually wound, it tells time with the elasticity of a bit of metal when the global time standard is based on the radioactive decay of a cesium isotope. It was created for a sport that has all but perished. Top quality materials and craftsmanship went into a state of the art timepiece, but it is state of the art for ninety years ago. It's a functional work of art that requires daily attention.

I like it a lot.
