World Class Player-perhaps UNRIVALED
I couldn'tbelieve a 1 star rating from the previous reviewer. He's obviously knowledgable because he states that Mr. Nicolescu is a "monster" player. Have NO doubt of that friends. I'd like more fire too, but from my perspective, artists on this level don't produce 1 star music. This cd is filled with sheer beauty, musical poetry, engaging warmth, technical mastery, and more genuine woodshedded soul than you're likely to find anywhere else. SO, I SAY, "HEY DEX, GIVE IT ANOTHER LISTEN." You know how sometimes first impressions of an album are inaccurate, and you wonder later what in the heck you were hearing the 1st time around??????
Not what I was hoping for
After seeing Florin with Bireli Lagrene I was expecting a cd with a lot more fire to it. He's a monster player, but this didn't make an impression at all.
