Album Description
Description This San Francisco band attracted a following of its own during the mid-'80s, but what really qualified this album for Noble Rot reissue is that two of its members, Roger Manning and Andy Sturmer, formed the band Jellyfish shortly after Beatnik Beatch broke up! So, this is a look at the evolution of one of the most pop-smart acts of the era!
Customer Reviews
Great to finally get this on CD
This is just a sample of the greatness and talent that would become the Amazing band Jellyfish, although the songs on here are nowhere hear the quality the the 2 Jellyfish CD's it still a pretty good CD and something any Jellyfish fan would love to own for historical reasons.
Early Jellyfish
This is a great preview of what was to come from a band that never went as far as they should. The Jellyfish would later be formed from two members of Beatnik Beatch, and carry the best elements of this album to another level.
Andy's vocals can be heard, but there really aren't many songs that were crafted to showcase his true talent outside "Sargeant Lasard" and "Maria". Two songs from Beatnik were later recorded again by Jellyfish ("Worthless Heart" and "Watching the Rain")and are available on "Fan club" if you're lucky enough to find a copy now that it's out of print. All in all, this is a good album, but it's just not nearly as good as a Jellyfish album.
