Love this Puzzle!
We have had this toy for more than a year and still looks very good (just a few scratches). I bought it when my daughter was 8 months old. She learned to name the animals very quickly and loved to play with it even though she couldn't put the pieces back.
If this is too difficult for your child, try the geometric shapes (Melissa and Doug) - they're much easier. I think that this puzzle is the next step after the shapes.
not durable
While my daughter likes playing with this puzzle, the puzzle is not durable. She, like many teething toddlers, chews on things. The pieces of this puzzle are made out of particle board and just dissolves when chewed or slobbered on...
great puzzle!
This puzzle is very durable-my daughter is in a throwing phase, so these pieces have been thrown around repeatedly and still look like new. She has learned the animal sounds for all the animals. The big knobs are great for her little hands and improving her fine motor skills. Melissa & Doug puzzles were recommended to us by my daughter's speech therapist and we love them in our house!
