Product Description

In recent years, mainstream Americans have begun to come around to meditation in a big way-and scientific studies are suggesting that the physical and mental benefits are solid and real. But to many, it remains something mystical and inaccessible...and spiritually-oriented tomes on the market don't do much to make it easier.

As interest in meditation continues to grow, this book offers a simple, no-nonsense program to help beginners experience reduced stress and increased focus in only eight minutes a day. Designed by meditation expert and bestselling author Victor Davich, this program teaches the basic principles of meditation while clearing up the misconceptions and myths that too often get in the way.

Customer Reviews

Just do it4
My son recommended this book to me because he knew I needed it. I've tried meditation before but I never seemed to get the hang of it. This book makes it simple. Simple enough for me to be willing to give it 8 minutes a day. Already I feel the accumulated effects. If you need to quiet your mind, and want to do it RIGHT NOW, then this is the book for you.

How can it be?5
How can it take 208 pages to tell me how to meditate for 8 mins?

The back of the book was talking specifically to me5
I always did want to try meditation, but like many things its very intimidating thing to get into and stay into, because you often have to buy some religious or other teaching with it, or it just doesn't fit into your schedule. Like he says, this book overcomes both of those obstacles, no weirdness and an easy course to fit into your life.

I'm starting on week three; I haven't so much noticed "reduced stress and increased focus" but I'm definitely enjoying the practice. I also like the clear and easy course he sets out for you making it easy to follow and not be discouraged.

I recommend this book to anyone and everyone with a desire to try meditation (though if you'll read the negative reviews it has little to offer someone more experienced).
