The Insult of the title is a brain injury sustained by the central character which changes his life forever. One of the most memorable books I have ever read.

You can finish this before that coffee and it's a little dated but still worth a look.

This is kind of like Don DeLillo doing a Bret Ellis book. I liked it.

If you buy this book to learn about music, you're wasting your time. The author does go on a road trip across America visiting music-related death sites, however it is a novel about what the author learns about himself *while doing this*. Klosterman has terrible taste in music - or at least 85% of it is terrible - but what he does have is great skill as a writer.

Hello darkness my old friend... I like dark moody books.

This was sold as a memoir but it turns out that quite a lot is fiction. I'm guessing the same is true of a lot of memoirs, that's probably what makes them interesting. I thought this was an interesting story, well told and, ultimately, quite an uplifting narrative. So some is fiction, so what?
