![]() | They Tell Me of a Home: A Novel by Daniel Black

|
![]() | A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott
Buy new: $7.50 / Used from: $0.01 I had no idea that Alcott wrote this type of novel; apparently it was deemed to racy to publish during her life. Spunky heroine ends up with an abusive, sadistic older man, and she runs away from him. He's determined not to let her get away. Tragedy in the end, as many of these types of books are.

|
![]() | Harvesting the Heart: A Novel by Jodi Picoult
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $4.79 It took me awhile to get into the story. The characters were hard to relate to, and some were not well developed. I had a hard time sympathizing with Paige, who ran away from her baby. Her husband was even worse-- narcissistic and spoiled rotten. The book was poorly edited...what 3-month-old baby eats solids, and what 6-month-old baby talks? Disappointing.
