I like BW's Knitting from the Top better, but Ann Budd will hold your hand in the learning process. Scarves, hats, socks, vests, mittens, sweaters (set in sleeve only). This book does not come with yardage estimates, but a card is available that goes with the book that does give yardage estimates.

Vol 1 and 2 are awesome, Vol 3 has fewer patterns, but they are charted. Vol 4 is pretty cool, but definitely optional in comparison to the others. Not a lot of stranded colorwork, though... Barbara is big on slip stitch colorwork.
