About Us
My name is John Botscharow and I live in north central Arkansas. I was born in Stuttgart, Germany on May 21, 1948. My family emigrated to the United States in 1952. I grew up in suburban Philadelphia. I moved to Chicago in 1968 and lived there until 1991 when I moved to Arkansas with my wife and then six-week old daughter. Heidi is now 15 and a freshman in high school. I have two sons, Ian, born on September 14, 1995, and Michael, born on December 30, 1996. My children are my pride and joy. I have a BA in Anthropology from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and an MA from the Divinity School at the Uinversity of Chicago. I was working on a PhD in Theology when I quit graduate school in 1985 to save a marriage that was not worth saving. I married my present wife, Elizabeth, in 1991. We live in a three-bedroom manufactured home that sits on nearly five acres of heavily wooded land a few miles from town. We have two dogs and two cats. My work experience runs from working loading docks to teaching at a junior college. I published an online marketing newsletter for eight years, but gave that up in 2006 due to health concerns and disilusionment ( a topic for a post some day). My passions include, in order of priority, my family, religion, philosophy. politics, football, science fiction and fantasy, music, and good movies. There, more than likely, will be posts about all of these topics on my site sooner or later!
