Amazon.com Review
For nature lovers, boaters, or folks who just like to be prepared, this wireless forecast station provides all the stats for planning a day trip outdoors. The station reports the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius for indoor and outdoor locations using a remote sensor. For more accurate outdoor readings, the base unit can receive information from up to three different sensors that can each be placed up to 80 feet away. The forecast station also records the minimum and maximum temperatures within a 24-hour period, and recalls them at your prompting. A forecast icon on the LCD displays weather predictions for any 12- to 20-hour time period based on changing air pressure. For added convenience, this weather station has a manually-set quartz clock that keeps time in hours and minutes in 12-hour mode. The wireless forecast station requires two AA batteries for the receiver, another two for the remote, and mounts on a wall or rests on a table. This unit is covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde
Customer Reviews
very accurate
Very nice little unit and very accurate. Easy to set up and easy to install. If you decide to use the double faced tape thats supplied to attach the remote sensor be aware this stuff is really STICKY! its not going to come off even in an 8.2 earthquake so make sure you have it located exactly where you want it and where its going to work! Better off using the screws included if you have any doubt about where to locate it.
Nice little unit
Works very well. But do not try to attach it to metal siding. The metal blocks the signal.
Functions perfectly so far!
I purchased the The Weather Channel WS-9055TWC Wireless Forecast Station since it was on a Friday sale and I had read so many mixed reviews that I wanted to get the cheapest one first to try. Well it has worked perfectly for the past couple of weeks I've used it. The important part to get it working properly is to put the batteries in the remote receiver first, then in the station. Since I liked this one so much, I also picked up the La Crosse Technology WS-9611U Wireless Sun/Moon Weather Station. This one has many extra features, most importantly for me is the humidity level reading for my home office. I also enjoy the clothing indicator and the moon phases. Both have worked perfectly (granted I've only had them a few weeks) and usually are within one degree F of each other. I don't think you could go wrong with either selection depending on your needs, but I would wait for a repeat Friday sale as now they are almost double what I paid, (TWC 22.99 B4F3, so really around 16.00 and 16.99 for the WS-9611U). If I later have an issue w/ either one functioning properly I will update this review.
