Interesting supporting characters, including John Newton; inspirational; thought-provoking re:relationship of church and state and living out one's faith. Broad appeal.

Scholl was one of the relatively few Protestants who actively resisted Hitler. In her case her words were her weapon. She refused to betray her conscience and was beheaded. Acting flawless. For teens and up.

(Warning: PG13) Fish-out-of-water White pastor from cushy suburban megachurch required to "do time" observing and learning at affiliated inner city mostly Black church. The drama raises issues about politics, human relations, and throwing $$ at societal problems rather than commitment & service.

Very weird spiritual warfare drama that's part buddy film, part zombie-esque western, but ultimately about the spiritual battle for souls. Scary, best for older teens and up. (Fair warning: I'm a bigger fan of this movie than others who've seen it, b/c of its treatment of neglected demonic realm reality.)

Whereas some movies about Jerusalem are emotional or political or beautiful, if I had to pick one word to describe this one: informative. It's got history, archaeology, maps, computer graphics, on location footage, just lots and lots of info integrated and told in a rather unique way--by examining the significance of each of the gates in the walls of Jerusalem's "old city."

Well-produced, on location documentary devoted not to Israel as a whole, but specifically to Jerusalem (past, present, future) from biblical point of view. Straightforward drama about individual and underground church persecution as told through following ex-Muslim Samir, now a Christian, as he returns to Middle East to visit and share the gospel. Viewers familiar with the work of Brother Andrew, Open Doors, Voice of the Martyrs, AWM, etc. will especially appreciate this; or visit Muslims4Jesus on YouTube to get an idea of the persecution.

Historical drama on the brilliant and noble scholar and priest, Wycliffe, a Brit, who challenged the Catholic Church long before Luther. Big on scripture, he had it translated for common man, and without printing press, he spread the message with poor preachers (Lollards), many of whom died for the cause. Influence crossed borders.

Suspense horror thriller: a certain high school has repeated cases of kids dying with the name of a past suicide victim being their last words. A Christian couple and their two teenage kids are hired to go undercover and figure out what's going on. Requires some suspension of disbelief, entertaining.

This drama's about his facing painful memories and bitterness towards Christianity b/c of them. Not multi-layered, but something most Christians can relate to--deliverance, that includes deliverance from emotional bondages.
