failure to ship
Can't tell if this is a good item because Super Deal never shipped it, nor did they bother to tell me until I asked where it was a week later...however...Amazon is very good about returning my $ to the credit card...
Almost perfect
Great product, i don't regret buying it at all. However there are some annoying control related issues i could do without:
* Pressing the up arrow button will reset random setting. I like to randomize playing my songs and if you accidentally hit the up arrow instead of the >> button (to move to the next random song), the random setting is lost/reset.
* When in randomizing mode, the << button doesn't move to the previous random song.
* When switching between input settings (AV input, to radio, to cd player) the cd player doesn't stop. In other words, the cd continues to spin. For example, say i am listening to the cd player then i switch to the radio, i can still hear the cd spinning in the background because it's still "playing". I have to manually press stop before switching to the radio. And if i then happen to turn off the car and turn it back on, the cd player starts up and continues to "play" again even if i did press stop previously. Very annoying!
* Maybe this issue is just related to my car. If i have my ignition turned off but have the car in "idle" to listen to the cd player. If i then turn the ignition back on, this unit will momentarily turn off then turn back on thereby interrupting whatever music i was listening to. Why does it do this? My previous cd player never did this. I never turned the car off therefore the cd player should continue to play and the unit shouldn't "blink".
I am still impressed! (even after10 months of ownership)
I do a lot of research before making most purchases, and I tend to be a bit picky. But let me tell you, this stereo has NOT let me down. It sounds great! It looks great (some people actually thought it was factory). The dvd picture quality is really good, and the four viewing angles help you find a proper viewing setting. The settings are very customizable. It transmits the satellite radio very well. I love the ability to control my iPod through the unit. I do think the menus are a bit cumbersome to operate while driving, at times, and I do wish it had direct-access radio station buttons (like "1""2""3"), instead of having to scroll through the presets to get to the station you want. However, overall, this is a great buy! Get it. You'll like it alot! Shoot, at this price, you will LOVE it. lol
