About K2
In February of 1961 the first pair of fiberglass skis was produced by brothers Bill and Don Kirschner in their Vashon Island, Washington shop. The Kirscners, avid skiers, built fiberglass animal cages for medical use and were convinced that their process could build a ski that was lighter, stronger, and more lively than the wood and metal skis of the day. They really just wanted to build some cool skis for themselves and their friends. And the rest, as they say, is history. Much has changed since those early days on sleepy Vashon Island, but one thing has not: K2 is still a bunch of adrenaline junkies who just want to make some cool stuff for themselves and their friends.
Today, K2 Inc. is a premier, branded consumer products company with a portfolio of leading brands including Shakespeare and Stearns for marine and outdoor products, Rawlings and Worth for team sports, K2 and Brass Eagle for action sports, and Marmot and Ex Officio for apparel and footwear. K2's diverse products includes fishing, watersports activities, baseball, softball, alpine skiing, snowboarding, and inline skating.

Rollin'
These are my first pair of in-line skates. I tried on at least 9 pairs prior to settling on these. They weren't a perfect fit, but I figured that they would stretch as I used them and that hopefully they would become the perfect fit. They definitely were the closest any skate came to the perfect fit of all the different models I tried on.
They are secure and seem pretty solid. I've been using them for 6 weeks now and I am very happy with them.
I would encourage anybody who is a beginner (like me) to stay in this price range until you are sure you like the sport and until you've gotten good enough to actually need the more expensive skates. These are very good skates for exercise and recreation. You wouldn't want to race or do tricks in them.
Also, I would encourage you to try on the skates at a store first and then buy them on Amazon afterwards. You really can't buy skates without trying them on. You have to make sure they fit right. Oh, and wear the sock you will wear when skating when you try them on.
GOOD CONTROLED RIDE! for beginners...
I am a 35. y.o. runner. I wanted an outdoor activity, besides riding the bike, that complimented my exercise routine.
The skates are good beginers, but after you get use to the exercise and the control on the rides improve, you will need a smoother ride.
When I go with a friend, his skates are more advanced and I have to work harder to keep up. I traded for a few minutes the skates and realized that his were easier to ride. Basically the resistance the more advanced skates produce is less than my beginner ones.
Buy this skate if you want to learn in a controlled way.
Good Skate - but I consider the Exo Aluminum
In the past, I have struggled to find a skate that is comfortable, and does not leave my feet in pain after skating. I think this may be due to my having high arches.
I recently tried this model, the K2 Exo, and they were ok, but I ended up upgrading to the K2 EXO Aluminum (which are harder to find). If you are new to skating, the regular EXO's might work out great for you. They are very comfortable, which is the most important thing to look for in a skate, IMHO.
