Ingenuity goes a long way toward compensating for lack of capital, an axiom Kenneth Cole proved back in the early 1980s when he launched his fledgling shoe store out of a borrowed truck parked along a fashionable Midtown Manhattan street. Gaining a parking permit required a clever ruse. Cole added the word "Productions" to his company name, reinvented himself as a film director, hired models as "actors," and got a license to shoot a film appropriately titled The Birth of a Shoe Store. Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. (the tongue-in-cheek name remains to this day) may not have produced much actual film that day, but it did sell an impressive number of shoes. Today, Kenneth Cole Reaction blends fabulous fashion with functionality, creating urban-inspired footwear for work or play.

Beautiful but oversized
I love Kenneth Cole shoes. In fact, I've bought several pairs in about two years. Very stylish, durable.

But I hate the sizing. When I think I've unlocked the "secret" in Kenneth Cole shoe sizing... they change it.

I just bought 3 pairs... fortunately they are not too big for me, I can use them. But a year ago a bought a pair that resulted too big, I thought I had learned my lesson, bought three pairs that went with the right sizing.

Today I received another 3 pairs... half a size too BIG.

I hate that. Be warned, buy a half or a full size less than you normally do.

But the shoes are so beautiful... that the anger just dissapears!

a note on sizing issues
This shoe is meant to have extra room at the toe. It gives the shoe a sleeker line and room to taper the front for visual effect without crushing your toes. Similar to the fashion of women's shoes a couple of years back where the front of the shoe extended beyond where the toe would actually go.

I worried at first that I'd trip with an extra inch of shoe in front of my toe, but no problems walking, and they fit better than any dress shoe I've ever had. The brown shoes show scratches easily, but they easily buff out with a clear polish and have actually gotten this nice darker color that I prefer to the original with each polish.

The inside of the shoe is luxuriously comfortable. The sole is rubber, but you can't tell from first look. They are very dressy looking shoes, but are comfortable enough for you to run after the bus if you're running late and not get a single blister. I love these shoes enough that I'm looking everywhere for a pair of black shoes to go with the browns I got a couple of months ago. Nothing I have found so far in looking for a new pair of blacks has been able to match the combination of dressiness and comfort that these shoes were able to balance. EXCELLENT!

Terrible giant oversized shoes
never ever get fooled and buy those oversized giant shoes, they are not comfortable, they were the worst shoes i have ever had in my life. I was fooled when I bought it from amazon, which really made my amazon experience of online shopping terrible.
