Too Hard to Use2
I bought this fire extinguisher a couple of years ago because it looked similar to the First Alert one I'd had for years, then used to put out a small kitchen fire. Well, I had another small kitchen fire (NEVER check your email while heating oil in a wok!), and after pulling the pin on this one, I pressed the discharge button...and nothing happened. My husband put out the fire with water (not really the best option with an oil fire). After removing and replacing the trigger button, I took the extinguisher outside and was able to get it to discharge. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one because perhaps I needed to press it harder in the first place, but a fire extinguisher that doesn't work right the first time is pretty useless.

It worked, eventually, but...3
Wow, I had the same experience as the other reviewer.

I've had the same Kidde Kitchen Fire Extinguisher mounted on my kitchen wall in several different apartments, for probably 8 years. Last night something spilled over on the stove but I didn't notice it. Was boiling a pan of water this morning when I smelled burning, I took the pan off then the stuff in the burner pan burst into flames. After turning off the burner I waited a couple of seconds then realized the flames weren't going away. Grabbed my Kidde off the kitchen wall, pulled the pin, pressed the button and... nothing. Pressed it again, and... nothing.

Thought briefly about wetting a towel and dumping it on the stove, but since I'd never used a fire extinguisher before I wasn't sure I was doing it right. Read the label quickly, realized I was in fact pushing the right button, so pushed it harder a couple of times. A whooosh of white stuff and the flames were gone in a split second.

My recommendation: If you have this, practice holding it before you need it. Index finger through the hook, thumb pressing down on the button, pointed in the direction you want. (In my hurry I didn't exactly aim...so got to clean a lot of it off the counter.)

DON'T DISCHARGE IT, just practice holding it. And if you do have to use it someday, press HARD.

If you don't have this one already, buy a First Alert that has a big trigger that is intuitive, so you don't have to wonder if you're doing it right. Trust me, with flames in front of you and adrenaline racing through your system you do not want to have to figure out how to use it.
