Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Product Description
Tired of the same-old style of boys' bikes? Turn to the Kawasaki Monocoque 16-inch boys' bicycle, which offers a durable steel monocoque (French for "single shell") frame that's sure to stand out in a crowd. The bike, which is intended for kids just learning to ride, offers such features as a fully enclosed chainguard that keeps your child's fingers safe, along with a set of training wheels for getting up to speed. The hand and coaster brakes, meanwhile, deliver sure stopping power. Other details include a soft padded saddle, knobby tires that stand up to riding in the mud, and a bell on the handlebars.

Extremely poor construction, very hard to pedal1
Well, it's a cheap bike and it shows. The front wheel is chronically loose and the rear wheel has a lot of friction. Also, the rear wheel is extremely out of alignment. Unfortunately, this is typical of bikes in this price range. I bought my daughter a Groovy Girls 16" bike a few years back that had the same problems. She dealt with it for two years, but I think this one is going back. The only good thing about it is that it's very easy to assemble, but maybe that's because I've had so much practice over the years.

A good bike; my 3 year old son loves it!4
My 3-year-old son loves this bike and clearly preferred this style over every other bike on Amazon.com! The front fork was a little tricky to install (had to squeeze in the front wheel to fit into the fork) but I'm sure it would be easier for someone with the right tools or more experience with bikes. The instructions are one-size-fits-all instructions for all of the various types of bikes sold by the manufacturer, so they are a bit hard to follow. Nevertheless, with a bit of common sense, it's fairly easy to assemble the bike. There is no padding on the handlebars as with other bikes, but a plastic front motocross sign prevents any possibility of the chin or face hitting the handlebars. My only gripe is that some of the motocross decals have wrinkles and look like they won't last very long.

Great Bicycle5
Great Bicycle, not difficult to assemble. My 3 and half years old boy love it. Only have some scratches due to improper handling and shipping.
