Amazon.com Review
Coated inside with DuPont's exceptionally durable, three-layer Autograph nonstick, the pot and pans in this eight-piece cookware set are made of hard-anodized aluminum so they're harder than steel. The set comprises 1-1/2-quart and 2-quart saucepans with lids; a 6-quart stockpot with lid for simmering stocks and soups; a 10-inch sauté pan with high, straight sides that provide room for cooking meat, poultry, seafood, or vegetables; and an 8-inch, slope-sided skillet. (The stockpot's lid also fits the skillet.) Because they're aluminum, the pot and pans conduct heat quickly and uniformly without hot spots. Exteriors resist scratching and denting and show the matte-finish gray that characterizes the hard-anodizing process. Synthetic handles and lid knobs are oven-safe to 350 degrees F, and handles are riveted for strength. Lids are made of break-resistant glass so food can be monitored while it's cooking without releasing heat. The cookware should be hand washed and carries and lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Good non-stick, but rivets need careful cleaning5
This set of pots is a very good value for the price. The heavy aluminum, not stainless steel (see why this is important, below), pots are clad both inside and outside with non-stick which makes them easy to clean. HAND WASHING RECOMMENDED, but having used them for over a month so far, food doesn't stick so washing is easy. But be careful, use non-scratch utensils and do NOT bang the utensils on the side of the pots to get the food off. It might hurt the non-stick.

My only two quibbles are the rivets that connect the handle to the pot make the interior not completely smooth so when you wash it, you must pay special attention to remove food that may be stuck in the interface between the pot and the rivets. And the handles are only rated to 350 degrees in the oven. An all-metal handle would have been more professional, but also costs more and would be heavier.

My other quibble: The glass lids make it easy to see how your food is doing without letting out the steam. But the handle to the lid is held on with a single screw. Some of my lids spin and others don't. This might be a weakness as time goes on.

These pots' bottoms are really FLAT which are excellent for my radiant heat cook top. If you boil water in one, you can see how evenly the SMALL bubbles form which means the heat is very, very even. Your food cooks evenly and FAST which are the main differences between good and not so good cookware.

Oh, stainless steel is tougher than alumninum but has lower heat conductivity so the heat doesn't spread across the bottom of the pot as well as alumninum, leading to less even heating.

Great cookware, but beware of Anolon's customer service.4
I bought the cookware about six months ago. I love the cookware, easy to clean up and the pan sizes handle everything I need in my small kitchen. The only problem I had was the set came with the frying pan lid damaged. Even after repeated contact with the company with them promising my replacement lid was on its way, it has never come. I will not be buying any more of this company's products for this reason alone. What good is a great product if the company will not stand behind it?

Weight varies for this overly expensive line....3
My collection of Anolon 'Classic' contains an egg poacher (too light with 'non-stick' egg cups that stick like mad), a 10" crepe pan (flimsy) and the 4 qt. pasta pot (excellent).

I would recommend the heavy, stainless Cuisinart 'Chef's Classic' (my favorite), the heavy Anolon 'Advanced' (another favorite) or even the Calphalon 'Commercial'. The Anolon 'Classic' is on a par with the 'Simply Calphalon', another cheap competing line where quality is all over the lot.
