good choice for solitary betta
This is a much better tank for betta than a goldfish bowl, or any odd "centerpiece" design with lilly, or other flowers in it. This is easy to clean with a turkey baster to suck up waste. I change 1/3 of the water weekly with room temperature water that I have let sit out for a few hours to release stressful gasses and add conditioner and the fish do fine. This would be a better product if the optional light were easier to find as I have had to order mine. The light keeps the water a good temperature and adding a thermometer to the side of the tank will help you maintain a healthy temp. As bettas do not like currents in their water as would be provided by a filter and air pump this is a good, attractive choice to house your pet and with regular water changes. Great size for one betta. Use a live plant instead of the scratchy plastic one this unit comes with and your betta will be quite happy.

It's better than them being in a tiny cup.
I agree that this product is too small to be the best home for a Betta, but I think the Betta would say, if it could, please put me in this instead of the tiny cup I am in now!!!! I have had Bettas in 10 gallon tanks and in small bowls and some do like the smaller bowls better.

I have bought this kit two years ago and have had a betta live for two years. It was the best deal and the perfect size for a betta. The only thing you need is the fish! Over all it fits in tight spots and is very durible and easy to clean.
