This book was originally published in 1899 and reprinted and enlarged in 16 editions between that date and 1921.

It has a line drawing and a short description of a wide variety of all sorts of the mechanical things, steam engines, valves, and other pieces of technology. This will be of tremendous value to anyone exploring some of the lost technology from 100 years ago.

The drawings are clear and the text very useful.

I really recommend picking this up by anyone interested in the history of steam technology.

For those who likes ilustrations...2
There are a bunch of handmade ilustrations, but just a few explanations about the machanisms. Useful, but not that much...

Fascinating view back in time to the steam era4
Great book, from the glory days of mechanical engineering. A pity it doesn't have dates or more information on how some of the machines work. Essential if you are a mechanical inventor.
